12-Day Itinerary.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Casablanca. Hassan II Mosque, Corniche. Overnight Casablanca.
Day 2 – Casablanca → Rabat (Hassan Tower, Kasbah of the Udayas) → Chefchaouen. Overnight Chefchaouen.
Day 3 – Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Fès. Overnight Fès.
Day 4 – Full day Fès medina: tanneries, madrasas, souks. Overnight Fès.
Day 5 – Fès → Ifrane → Ziz Valley → Merzouga. Sunset camel trek, Berber dinner. Overnight Merzouga (night 1).
Day 6 – Free day in the desert: Khamlia village, optional 4×4 excursion. Overnight Merzouga (night 2).
Day 7 – Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dadès Valley. Overnight Dadès.
Day 8 – Dadès Valley → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech. Overnight Marrakech.
Day 9 – Guided Marrakech medina tour: Jemaa el-Fnaa, Bahia Palace, Majorelle Garden. Overnight Marrakech.
Day 10 – Marrakech → Essaouira. Explore ramparts and harbor. Overnight Essaouira.
Day 11 – Free morning in Essaouira → drive to Casablanca. Overnight Casablanca.
Day 12 – Departure from Casablanca.
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. Visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, perched dramatically over the Atlantic, and stroll along the Corniche. Overnight in Casablanca.
Day 2: Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen
Morning visit to Rabat: the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Continue north through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the famous « Blue City. » Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Fès
Morning free to wander Chefchaouen’s blue-washed medina. Drive to Fès via the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with an optional stop in the holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun. Overnight in Fès.
Day 4: Full Day in Fès
A full day exploring Fès el-Bali, the largest car-free medina in the world: the Chouara Tanneries, Bou Inania Madrasa, artisan quarters, and the iconic Bab Boujloud gate. Overnight in Fès.
Day 5: Fès → Ifrane → Ziz Valley → Merzouga
Depart for the Sahara via Ifrane (« Little Switzerland ») and the cedar forests near Azrou. Descend through the spectacular Ziz Valley oasis. Arrive in Merzouga for a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Berber dinner and stargazing at the desert camp. Overnight in Merzouga (night 1).
Day 6: Full Day in the Desert
Wake to a Sahara sunrise. Free day to explore Merzouga: visit the village of Khamlia and its Gnaoua musicians, take an optional 4×4 excursion into the dunes, or simply relax at the camp. Overnight in Merzouga (night 2).
Day 7: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dadès Valley
Drive to the dramatic Todra Gorge, then continue to the Rose/Dadès Valley, lined with kasbahs and almond groves. Overnight in the Dadès Valley.
Day 8: Dadès Valley → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Cross the « Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, » stopping at the UNESCO-listed fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou. Continue over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 9: Guided Marrakech Medina Tour
A local guide leads you through Jemaa el-Fnaa, the souks, Bahia Palace, and the Majorelle Garden. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 10: Marrakech → Essaouira
Drive to the laid-back coastal town of Essaouira (~2.5 hours), known for its fortified medina, Atlantic sea breeze, and fishing port. Afternoon to explore the ramparts, harbor, and blue-and-white streets. Overnight in Essaouira.
Day 11: Essaouira → Casablanca
Morning free in Essaouira — browse the woodworking and art galleries, or relax on the beach. Drive back to Casablanca in the afternoon/evening. Overnight in Casablanca.
Day 12: Departure
Transfer to Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport for your return flight.
