Day 1: Marrakech to the Heart of the Atlas Our adventure begins with a scenic drive from Marrakech to Imlil, the gateway to the High Atlas. Here, you’ll meet your expert mountain guide and the mule team who will carry our luggage. We’ll begin our trek to the traditional Berber village of Aroumd. Settle in for a peaceful evening and a delicious home-cooked dinner.
Day 2: Trekking Through Timeless Valleys Today’s trek takes us on a steady ascent to the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass, rewarding us with spectacular panoramic views of the Imnan Valley. We’ll descend through the remote villages of Tinghrine and reach Ikkiss, a truly authentic taste of life in the mountains.
Day 3: Waterfalls and Walnut Groves Our journey continues over the Tizi n’Aguersioual Pass. We’ll pass through the villages of Matate and Aït Aissa in the serene Azzaden Valley before reaching Tizi Oussem. This charming village is famous for its stunning waterfalls and ancient walnut groves.
Day 4: The Ascent to Toubkal Refuge Today, we begin our climb towards the Toubkal Refuge. The trail offers increasingly dramatic views of the High Atlas. After a steady ascent, we’ll arrive at our mountain refuge, our base camp for the night, where we’ll rest and prepare for tomorrow’s optional summit attempt.
Day 5: Summit and Return to Marrakech For those who choose the challenge, we’ll begin our early morning ascent of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. The reward is a breathtaking, 360-degree view stretching across the entire Atlas range. After our descent, we will trek back to Imlil and transfer to Marrakech, ending our journey with a sense of accomplishment and incredible memories.
